How to get rid of roaches out of your car?

It can be terrible to have roaches or cockroaches in your car.  One of the reasons why roaches stay in the car is because there are a lot of hiding places in your vehicle.  Plus, it is often the place where people like to eat on the go.  It becomes quite a task to find out where they are hidden and eliminate them.

Keep your car clean  – If possible, avoid eating in the car. If you end up having a meal in your car, make sure you dispose of everything properly. It is important to clean your car regularly.  Remove floor mats, rugs and seat covers and clear off the hidden areas where roaches are likely to hide.  You may use a disinfectant or deodorizer, because the pleasant scent can be effective in getting rid of these insects.

Ingesting these baits can result in the death of roaches. You can keep these baits on little disposable plates. Ideally keep them under the seats of your car or at the back at night and remove them in the morning.  Keep them away from children and pets.

Roach Traps

Roach traps like a glue trap can also be effective in getting rid of roaches. Some people also use these traps in combination with roach baits.

Roach Sprays

One of the fastest ways to kill cockroaches in your car is by using a roach-spray and spraying it on the insect. Though the chemicals are not poisonous to humans, it is ideal to keep your car window open while spraying.  You can also spray it in areas when you think roaches thrive like their nests, and then wait for them to ingest and die instantly. Roaches contain synthetic pyrethroids which interfere with the nervous system of roaches and cause paralysis, and then death. One application can give six weeks of freedom from roaches.

Dish Soap

If you do not like to use roach sprays, you can also use dish soap. Fill a spray-bottle with 70 percent water and 30 percent dish soap and spray the concoction in the area, where you see a roach moving around

Exterminator or pest control

These are professionals and give the best results when it comes to get rid of roaches in your car.  But then they are expensive too. So, ask them for a consultation, where they inspect the area and then tell you what techniques they would employ to get rid of roach infestation, and the costs involved.

Additional tips to get rid of roaches out of your car

1. Regularly wash your car with a professional car wash and do pest control at regular intervals.
2. Repair little cracks near areas like the wind-shield and close any unwelcome crevices or gaps.
3. As mentioned above, avoid eating in your vehicle. Get rid of crumbs, leftovers if you end up eating, anyway.
4. Get rid of old paper, clothes; etc. in the car.
5. Exercise patience when you use methods like roach baits or roach traps.
